Aaron Judge is back in the lineup as the designated hitter for the New York Yankees following a 10-day stint on the injured list with a flexor tendon strain in his right elbow. There’s still no clarity on when the All-Star slugger will return to the outfield. Judge went 0 for 3 with two strikeouts in a 2-0 loss to the Texas Rangers on Tuesday night. Manager Aaron Boone said Judge is supposed to start a throwing program Wednesday. Boone all but ruled out Judge returning to the outfield as early as the next couple of days.

Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. returned the favor. Gurriel crushed a 103.9 mph fastball from Miller into the left-field seats for a two-run homer in the eighth inning, tying the game at 5-all. It was the hardest hit pitch for a homer since MLB started pitch tracking in 2008. It was part of a two-homer night for Gurriel. The veteran also hit a two-run shot in the first inning.

Nothing looked different from a typical game day in the Yankees clubhouse before they made it five losses in five games on this nightmare South Florida-to-North Texas roadtrip. The night after their second brutal late collapse in four days, a ninth-inning lead turning into a 10-inning loss on Monday night, everyone looked pretty upbeat Tuesday afternoon even though the Yankees have been playing a lot of bad baseball in all facets for almost two months. With country music blaring, first baseman Paul Goldschmidt hung out at his locker with his wide-eyed grade-school son, who was dressed like a Yankee from head to toe with his baseball glove in hand. Second baseman Jazz Chisholm looked like Forest Gump toying with new reserve infielder/outfielder Jose Caballero at the ping-pong table.

The Athletics’ Shea Langeliers has become the fourth catcher to have two three-homer games after belting three against the Washington Nationals. Langeliers hit in the leadoff spot for the first time and cashed in quickly, homering off MacKenzie Gore to open the game. After a single and a groundout, Langeliers led off the fifth with another homer off Orlando Ribalta. Langeliers hit another leadoff homer in the seventh off Andry Lara, joining Johnny Bench, Gary Carter and Travis d’Arnaud as the only catchers to have two career three-homer games. Langeliers is the only catcher in major league history to have a three-homer game from the leadoff spot and has 22 on the season.

That victory paired with a Cubs loss had increased Milwaukee's lead over Chicago to four games in the Central Division. The Brewers scored four times in the 3rd inning to get things rolling and the pitching staff made it stand up. Andrew Vaughn and Issac Collins had two RBIs each. Christian Yelich and Brice Turang also drove in runs. Freddy Peralta gave up one run on four hits with 7 Ks over five innings to pick up his 13th win of the season. The Brewers have just completed the best 60-game stretch in franchise history. The record stands at 69-44 and they will play in Atlanta again tonight…pre-game
